R.J. "Rocky" Bevis

Rocky Bevis was raised in Tallahassee and is a graduate of Leon High School and Miami-Dade College. Rocky worked side by side with his father, Russell Bevis, before taking over ownership of Bevis Funeral Home in 1998. He is very active in the Tallahassee community where he is a member of the Hospice Board of Directors, Tallahassee Lions Club, Capital Tiger Bay Club, Knight Foundation, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation, and Chairman of the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. He and his wife Patti are also members of Faith Presbyterian Church where he serves as an Elder.

Todd Wahlquist
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Manager

Mr. Wahlquist joined our team in the spring of 2000. He is a native of Bristol, Florida, and a graduate of Liberty County High School and Jefferson State College in Birmingham, Alabama and also holds a degree from Florida State University. He and his wife Myla have raised their three children in Tallahassee since 1996. Todd is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and is a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and The Masons.

Tholley Taylor
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Mr. Taylor is a 1998 graduate of Leon High School. He studied mortuary science at Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana, were he received the Restorative Art Award. Tholley has been with our funeral home since Spring of 2003. He is active in both The Shrine and the Masonic Lodge. Springtime Tallahassee, and also serves on the Big Bend Hospice Community Advisory Board. Tholley resides in nearby Havana with his wife Sarah.

B.J. "Buster" Parris
Associate

Buster is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee and has lived in Tallahassee with his wife Judy since 1979. Mr. Parris has been with Bevis Funeral Home since 1990, after retiring from Rose Printing Company. He is an active member of the Masonic Lodge, the Independent Order of Oddfellows, past Patron of the Eastern Star, and Chaplin of the Marzuq Shrine Center. Mr. Parris is also a member of the Moose and an Elk lodges. Buster is a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.

Billy Rogers
Associate

Billy Rogers was a life long resident of Wakulla County until moving to Jefferson County where he lives with his wife Gwen. He is a member of the Robert Butler Masonic Lodge and the Marzuq Shrine Center. He has been with the funeral home since 1998.

Sarah Bevis Taylor
Community Relations Director

Ms. Bevis graduated from Leon High School in 1999, and is a recent graduate of The Florida State University where she earned a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services with emphasis in Special Event Coordination. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta national fraternity, and of Faith Presbyterian Church. She has assisted Big Bend Hospice with various special events, and is an active member of Springtime Tallahassee. She has recently joined a senior resource group which she hopes will help keep her informed on all area senior's needs. In March 2006 Sarah married Tholley Taylor and they reside in Havana, just outside of Tallahassee.

Heather Shirah
Office Manager

Heather is a 2000 graduate of Leon High School, and graduated from The Florida State University School of Business in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. She has recently joined Bevis Funeral Home where she has assumed her grandmother Marian Bevis's position as Office Manager. She is an active member of Springtime Tallahassee's Spanish Krewe, where she serves as New Member Ambassador.
